Admissions Summary
The 2e students who are a fit for Trillium Academy are curious, want to learn, have deep interests and/or significant talents, and are ready to join a specialized, small group learning environment.
2e students often have educational journeys that include more than one school, breaks from school, and homeschooling. We are prepared to discuss the application process with these different scenarios in mind and collaborate with you to make the application process work for your circumstances.
Through the admissions process, our intent is to:
Mid-year Admission
If you are interested in applying for the 2024-25 school year, please start the process in Ravenna with the 2025-26 school year. You will be asked your child’s current grade and the grade for which you are applying. These should match if you are interested in joining Trillium Academy mid-year.
Tuition
Tuition is $47,000 for the 2024-25 school year. For students entering mid-year, tuition is pro-rated according to the month of enrollment.
Financial Aid
Currently, about 14% of the students at Trillium are benefiting from financial aid, and we are dedicated to exploring ways to offer more aid and resources for families to afford tuition.
We use the Clarity Application to determine a family’s level of financial need, based on the information that families share in the application. This includes assets, income, expenses, and debts. At the end of the application, there is a $60 fee to submit, and you can share your application with additional schools that accept the Clarity Application for no additional charge.
The deadline for completing the financial aid application including relevant supplemental documents is February 15, 2025. If approved for aid, families must sign the enrollment contract and agree to their award before a student can begin classes.
Recipients must reapply for financial aid annually to remain eligible for future aid.
Application Steps & Materials
In the interest of ensuring that we are a potential fit for your student and family, we require parents/guardians to connect with us by attending our Open House, taking a group or independent Parent Tour, or having a consultation with our Admissions Associate. Register for events through Ravenna, or contact us directly to schedule an appointment.
This form provides us with important background information about your family and your student.
If the application fee poses a financial hardship for your family, please contact the admissions office for a fee waiver code at admissions@trilliumacademy.org.
We value the perspective of parents/guardians in understanding each student's unique qualities, interests, and needs. Your insights will greatly contribute to our understanding of your child as an individual and as a learner.
Tours can be scheduled by you through Ravenna. We will host an interview tour only after we have met with a parent/guardian and the preliminary application has been submitted. The student interview is conducted in a relaxed manner during the tour. A full day visit (Shadow Day) will be scheduled once the application is complete.
This form authorizes our school to communicate with your child's psychologist, speech therapist, occupational therapist, and/or other relevant professionals. This form is necessary to ensure we have an accurate understanding of your child's support needs.
These documents are critical for our deeper understanding of your child's learning profile and needs within the school environment. They include private psychological, neuropsychological, and/or academic testing, as well as testing conducted by the school district (for example, as part of the initial IEP process). These documents also include the most recent IEP and/or 504 plan, if applicable.
If you don’t have these documents, you have the option to note this. Otherwise, submit any standardized testing your child may have taken. This may include, but is not limited to, CogAT, SBA, MAP, STAR, ERB, ISEE, SSAT, etc.
Provide your child’s current or previous teachers’ name and email address, as directed. Teachers will receive an email with a link to a secure form. Once they fill out the form they will submit it directly to our school.
Provide the name and email address of your child's most recent school administrator or guidance counselor, as directed. They will receive an email with a link to a secure form. Once they complete the form, they will submit it directly to our school.
You may request official transcripts/report cards to be sent directly to Trillium Academy. You can also provide this information directly to our admissions team by email.
We know that writing may not be your student’s strength or interest, so we encourage them to write what they can in their own way about their interests, unique personality, and goals.
This includes five brief questions that you can ask your student and complete the form together.
This form gives us a more multidimensional view of your student. We understand that many 2e students don’t have regular extracurricular activities, so use this form in a way that shows how they have spent their time at home as well as out in the community.
After we receive the majority of your application materials and your student has completed their Student Interview Tour, we will coordinate with you to arrange a Shadow Day for your child. This is a full-day visit in the classroom, experiencing what it's like to be a student at Trillium Academy.
