Trillium's high school program balances appropriately challenging academics, real-world skills, and building the self-knowledge students need to be confident in their everyday lives. Student life is intentionally focused on the skills that support academic success, healthy relationships, and independent living.
Woven into academic classes and advisory time, teachers guide students through self-regulation, impulse control, and understanding what's appropriate across different contexts. Students practice managing discomfort, stress, and anxiety with support; learning to recognize all-or-nothing thinking; and holding multiple perspectives at once — including those of people who see things differently.
In every class, students have multiple pathways to the material. Teachers follow student-initiated rabbit holes, bridging the gap between genuine interests and learning objectives, and they deliberately pair challenging or unfamiliar subjects with areas students are already passionate about. The result is deeper engagement, real confidence, and the lived experience of doing hard things in an environment where it's safe to try.

Real World & Life Beyond Trillium
All high school students take Real World, a class covering well-being, study skills, and post-secondary life. As academic demands grow, Real World helps students build the executive function skills central to real independence.
Our High School Curriculum meets Washington state's graduation requirements and college admissions standards, while staying flexible enough to support whatever direction your student wants to go after graduation. Learn more about post-secondary advising below.
